Dr. Solomon Wallace Class of 2016 - 10th Anniversary Fund

Refund and cancellation policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

If you ask the Committee within 30 days of a payment, the Fund refunds it. To stop your remaining scheduled gifts, ask the Committee by 5:00 PM ET on the business day before the next one. Please contact us before you dispute a charge with your bank.

Refunds

If you ask for a refund within 30 days of the date a payment was made, the Fund refunds it. Two Fund officers must both approve every refund: the Responsible Party and the co-signer.

If a payment was made in error, such as a duplicate or a wrong amount, tell us as soon as you can. The Committee can look at a request like that even after 30 days.

There is no refund button on the site. Ask the Committee, as shown below.

How to ask for a refund

Email support@dsw2016.org. Please tell us:

  • Your name and the email address you use to sign in.
  • The date and amount of the payment.
  • Why you are asking.

Do not send card or bank numbers. We do not need them.

How refunds are paid

  • A refund goes back to the card or bank account you paid with.
  • Card refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • A bank debit can only be refunded in full, for the whole payment. Bank refunds take up to 3 business days. Your bank statement shows a credit that refers to WALLACECLASS2016, and it may not be labeled as a refund.
  • We email you when the refund is made, with the amount, the reason and your updated remaining pledge.
  • A bank refund can sometimes fail. If yours does, the Committee is told and will contact you.

Your level after a refund

Your level comes from the total of your cleared payments. After a refund, a returned bank debit or a dispute decided in your favor, we work out your level again from what is left. If you already received items for a higher level, the Committee will contact you.

Disputes with your bank

Please contact us before you dispute a charge with your card company or bank. Most problems are faster to fix with us.

If you get a refund from us and also dispute the same payment with your bank, the same gift could be paid back to you twice. Every dispute also costs the Fund a fee, whatever the outcome.

You keep every right your card company or bank gives you.

Canceling scheduled gifts

You can ask the Committee to cancel your remaining scheduled gifts at any time. There is no fee to cancel.

Email support@dsw2016.org. Email is best, so your request is in writing.

If your request reaches us by the deadline, we stop that scheduled gift and every one after it. The Committee confirms by email within 2 business days.

If your request comes later, we will still try to stop the next scheduled gift. If it is charged anyway, tell us and we will refund it.

A payment that is already processing cannot be stopped. A bank debit can take up to 4 business days to finish. If one goes through after you asked to cancel, we will refund it if you ask.

Your pledge keeps credit for everything you already paid, and it closes at the level your cleared payments reached. Canceled scheduled gifts cannot be turned back on. If you want to give again later, contact the Committee.

Withdrawing a bank debit authorization

When you pay by bank debit, you authorize the Fund to debit your account for that payment and for your scheduled gifts. You can withdraw that authorization at any time. Tell us by email at support@dsw2016.org.

Stripe's authorization screen and its confirmation email say you may cancel with 30 days' notice. The Fund accepts much shorter notice. This is the Fund's notice period for this authorization: if your notice reaches us by 5:00 PM ET on the business day before a scheduled debit, we make no more debits from that account, starting with that one.

If your notice reaches us later, we will still try to stop the next debit, and if it goes through, we will refund it if you ask. A debit that is already processing still finishes.

Your remaining scheduled gifts stay on your pledge until you add a card or another bank account on My gift, or ask us to cancel them.

Changes you can make yourself

You do not need to cancel to change how you pay. On My gift, after you sign in, you can:

  • Pay your next scheduled gift early, or pay off your pledge.
  • Update your payment method.

To change a date or your plan, or to raise your pledge, ask the Committee. The giving terms explain each plan.

When the campaign closes

Closeout starts when gifts collected reach $30,000 or on the campaign's close date, whichever comes first. Then new pledges stop. The Committee decides how any open scheduled gifts are settled and tells each Brother affected before it changes them.

Before the final transfer, the Committee leaves time for late bank returns and disputes. Then the Fund transfers the money it holds to the United Supreme Council's endowment and closes its accounts. Once its accounts are closed, the Fund can no longer make refunds.
